066 - The Life Changing Power Of Lab Testing With Reed Davis Of FDN, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition

066 - The Life Changing Power Of Lab Testing With Reed Davis Of FDN, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition

Use this link for FDN training: https://www.anw5astrk.com/2JBZLWJ/2CTPL/
Reed Davis is the founder of FDN Functional Diagnostic Nutrition which is a program that Ashley is enrolled in. Ashley has been a nurse for 10 years and she is learning things that she never learned before.
1:37 - Reed is 70 years old and he founded FDN over a period of time working in the clinic via environmental law. He’s been a conservationist his whole life
2:45 - Then he changed jobs and worked in a clinic chiropractic acupuncture wellness center -  his son was going there as a high school athlete
3:27 - Reed took a class in nutrition with the doctor from the clinic and he got a certificate and was able to work with the clinic’s patients
4:00 - He became discouraged with how many doctors the patients had seen and they weren’t better yet.
5:12 - So the patients came to their alternative clinic
6:15 - Reed started running labs
7:05 - Reed wanted to stop the cycle of trial and error and he started to make observations that are part of the methodology that they use at FDN
8:55 - The hospital is the place to go for emergencies - it’s not the place to go to get Healthy. A lot of people don’t want to take an active role in their healing.
9:58 - It’s what you do at home that’s going to help you between your visits. DRESS - Diet, Rest, Exercise, Stress Reduction and Supplementation
12:14 - Making the invisible visible. Getting to the underlying cause of symptoms is important. But what if you don’t have any symptoms?
15:29 - FDN owns the health coaching overlap with regular medical doctors who treat for emergencies like wounds or viruses
17:32 - One patient was frustrated that she was 45 pounds overweight and her medication is giving her hives. Her doctor told her that she can be fat or she can have the hives. And she was depressed so her doctor was happy to give her a prescription for antidepressants
20:15 - Teaching around the world came 10 years later. Before that all he did was teach people face-to-face - he was the head educator for the clinic.
24:04 - There are FDNs in over 50 countries and they are not limited geographically, by pricing or by time.
26:62 - The metabolic wellness panel, oxidative stress, digestion, detoxification. The pattern emerged of hormone, immune, digestion, detoxification, energy production, and nervous system balance. HIDDEN.
    33:51 - Test don’t guess
35:12 - Tests they recommend running
40:27 - Metabolic typing tests for diet - tells how much protein, fats & carbs you should be eating- by testing not by experimenting
43:11 - Testing for 176 different food sensitivities
    46:00 - School story
48:38 - Retest (using the MRT test)  after healing and food sensitivities will change.
52:32 - The FDN course takes about 10 months, it is self-paced so it can take longer or less depending on the person. No prerequisites needed.
58:23 - FDNs cannot diagnose or treat specific things but can look at the healing opportunities, and the person then self treats everything.
1:04:35 - Get up every day and be grateful, it’s a decision that you get to make - take control, no one else should have control.

Amazing podcast

I loved the episode on “The Power Of The Nervous System”as well as “The Power of Coffee Enemas”. As a fellow functional wellness practitioner, I loved hearing these topics talked about as they are key aspects to overall health and wellness that most people don’t know about. Highly recommend listening to them :)

10/10 for HMH

Great content with informative and interesting guests. I learn something new every episode. Sometimes I’ll listen to a guest and think of questions as they speak, and Ashley will follow up with that question or seek clarification, it feels like she’s very in tune with the listening audience. Following curiosity in lock step with transparency has turned out to be a great strategy! Thanks for creating HMH, I’m Learning so much.
